Deep in the heart of Zacatecas, Mexico where the most beautiful people live, is a town named La Hermita de Guadalupe. The name pays homage to our Virgen mother of Guadalupe. La Hermita as I knew it growing up is where my paternal grandmother, my abuelita Catalina was born, lived, and later passed. She left behind beautiful memories and a legacy that is carried on in all who carry the “Soriano” name.
One beautiful memory is her love of family, natural healing remedies, and her delicious tortillas!
Her beautiful tortilla press continues to produce beautiful tortillas and this is an exact replica of her original press! Made of the finest wood, hand crafted by my husband, a self-taught wood maker. He took every detail and beautifully recreated her press so artfully that the joy of cooking will ultimately live on in your press for 100 more years!
To commission your very own press, add to your cart, and pay. Once your press is complete (usually a three-week production time) we’ll deliver your beautiful press!
And to further support the beautiful people of La Hermita, a $20 donation will be sent in your name to the local elementary school.
